Full Figured Fashion Week 2012: Plus Fashion Rocks
By: Farrah Estrella
The 4th Annual Full Figured Fashion Week 2012 (FFF Week) will be remembered as the year that the winds changed in the plus size market. From the models that rocked the runway to the organization and the energetic audience that made their voices heard at the events by cheering the models, the event was full class, positive energy, networking and impressive talent
As a newbie, not in fashion but in full figured fashion world, I have to admit that I didn’t know a lot of the people in the plus fashion industry including the designers and models that participated but that made the experience a lot more exciting and entertaining because I was able to appreciate their talents for myself without any pre-judgments or any of the hearsay.
The level of talent at the event was impressive. Indie designers like SK Wilbur, Evie Foster, Queen Grace, Eyanie Couture, Pretty Pear Bride and Theary Sim just to name a few, make us question why their designs are not in department stores now. I can see SK Wilbur’s designs at Saks Fifth avenue as well as the Pretty Pear Bride wedding dresses, or I can see Evie Foster and Queen Grace at Macy’s and Nordstrom. The quality of the clothes and the impeccable presentation speak for themselves.

I can certainly predict that this show is going to blow up and that in the next 3 or 4 years everybody in the world will have heard about it if not sooner. The show is becoming international; people are coming from France, Australia, England, Switzerland and many other countries just for the event.
FFF week executive producer and event creator Gwen DeVoe and her team have done a great job at making sure every detail is taken care of, from swag bags to table center pieces, to a warm welcoming greeting, make sure you mark your calendars for this event next year.
