UK-based retailer PRIMARK will open its first U.S store in Boston at the end of year.

According to Fashionista.com, the retailer is also in negotiations to open more East Coast locations including New York.
Primark has 270 stores in nine countries all located in Europe (such as Spain, Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands). It will join other European retailers that have crossed over to the US such as: ZARA, H&M and TOPSHOP.
It is known for its inexpensive but fashion forward clothing.
The first Primark store opened in 1969 in Dublin under the name Penneys and it is still called that in Ireland.
The first Primark store in the U.S will be located at Downtown Crossing in the Burnham Building, the former home of Filene’s Basement, which closed its doors in 2011.
