New Oscar de La Renta exhibit at SCAD in Savannah curated by Andre Leon Talley

Oscar de la Renta Gown 
Oscar de la Renta will be
honored at the SCAD Museum of Art Savannah campus with a new exhibit curated by
his close friend, fashion guru Andre Leon Talley.
“Oscar de la Renta: His Legendary World of
Style” celebrates the illustrious life and designs of the storied
couturier whose work set the standard for timeless elegance. In addition to the
exhibit, Talley is also working
on a book of the same title that will be publish in September.
The
exhibit will include 70 garments, some of Oscar’s most famous dresses that
he designed for the likes of Oprah Winfrey, Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole
Kidman, Taylor Swift, Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush among others.
De
La Renta who passed away recently was a world-renowned and beloved fashion designer
who has become an icon. Shortly
after his passing Talley approached his family about the exhibit and they loved
the idea. Talley is a long time friend of the late designer’s family. 
The
exhibit is open to the public and it will run from February 5 to May 3, 2015.
