Manus X Machina at The Met in NYC

Every year I take a trip to New York and every year I tell myself that I am going to visit The Met but I never do. This year on my annual trip to New York, I actually made it and it was so amazing and worth it.

The place is huge and there is no way that you can appreciate the whole thing in one day, therefore, I made sure that I saw what I wanted to see, which was the “Manus X Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology” exhibit. When you get there you can pay whatever you want to enter. They suggest a donation of $25 but if you don’t have that, they are not going to say no, you give what you can afford, I love that!.

The exhibit was incredible, it taught me appreciation for the Art of making clothes (couture) and how technology has changed the fashion industry. The main piece of the exhibit is a hand beaded wedding dress couture gown by Chanel. It is just so beautiful to see it in person and you can see how much work was put into it. I loved how the beads just sparkle. It is an amazing piece and the pictures do not do it justice.

The exhibit was divided into different sections and we were able to see leatherwork, 3D printing, dresses and coats made out of feathers and unconventional materials such as straws.

For a fashion lover like me this was an incredible experience and I will never forget it. I put together a little video with some of my favorite pictures that I took at the exhibit and I hope you can appreciate the beauty of it.

If you are in New York or just visiting, take a quick trip to The Met to see it, it is worth your time, I guarantee it.

Thank you guys for following my journey, until next time..
