The 2016 Emmy Awards Red Carpet (Photos)
The 2016 Emmy Awards were broadcasted live tonight from the Microsoft Theather in Los Angeles, California.
The 68th annual primetime Emmy Awards honor the best of the best in American Television. The show was hosted by comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who may I say did a great job. He was very funny of course but not offensive, my kind of host. My show “Game of Thrones”, lead the nominations with 23 and won the biggest award of the night for “Outstanding Drama Series”…Yes!!. That is all, now let’s talk fashion.
The Emmys are the begining of awards season and you know what that means, lots of red carpet gowns. I want to share with you guys some of my favorite looks from the red carpet, as well as my favorite trends. Check it out!!.
1-Black: There were a lot of black gowns on the red carpet this year, I mean, you can never go wrong with black, right? it’s a classic.
2-White: All of these ladies looked stunning in white but can we talk about Niecy Nash for a moment. I am loving her custom Christian Siriano dress. Work those curves Niecy!!
3-Pants and Jumpsuits: There was a point in time. when showing up to a red carpet event wearing pants was a big faux Pas but nowadays is very trendy and not a faux pas at all. With that being said, I didn’t like any of these looks. From the fit to the actual styles, they kind of fell flat for me, not red carpet worthy in my opinion.
4-Red: One of my favorite colors, red just looks amazing on the red carpet. Red on red is fab!!.
5-Yellow: Wow! this was a very surprising color on the red carpet but these ladies rocked it, amazing!!.
6-Shades of Blue: These navy blue gowns are so chic, I love navy blue. Well done ladies!!.
7-Golds and Nudes: I am so jealous of these ladies, I still haven’t found the right color nude for my skintone because I am beige, pretty much. They, on the other hand, got it right.
8-Esmerald Green: Gorgeous color!! BTW, I am so happy for Sarah Paulson for her Emmy win tonight. I am a huge fan of hers (she is from Tampa too) and I was so happy that she won for “Best Actress in a Limited Series or Movie”. She was also rocking Prada, not too shabby Sarah.
Ok guys, I have questions about these looks..LOL..worst looks of the night? What do you guys think?
Finally, I had to give a big shout-out to the guys who looked pretty good too in their tuxedos. Velvet is in for Fall/Winter and I am loving the black, on black, on black that Anthony Anderson from Black-ish is wearing.
What do you guys think of these looks? Which one is your favorite? Leave your comments down below and let’s chat!!.
