Plus size model Ashley Graham was gifted yesterday her own plus size Barbie by Mattel at the 2016 Glamour Women of the Year Awards in Los Angeles.

Ashley Graham’s Barbie

Sadly, they are not for sale…BOO!! Mattel. The doll, which Ashley helped designed, is two of a kind, there were only 2 made, one for Ashley and one for Mattel. We are hoping that all of the press that this is getting puts a little pressure on the toy company giant to actually mass produce them.

Ashley said: “All we did was take 360 degree photos of my body to send to them, and afterward we fleshed out some details. The color of my hair, a few details on my face like beauty marks and full eyebrows. The number one prerequisite, though, was that her thighs touched. I was like, ‘Guys, we can make this Barbie, but if her thighs don’t touch, she’s not authentic”.

Plus size model Ashley Graham gets her own Barbie, so cool! Congrats @theashleygraham @barbie #estrellafashionreport #ashleygraham #barbie

Congratulations Ashley!! 2016 was definitely your year but I honestly think that the best is yet to come.

Still pinching myself, thank you @glamourmag for such an honor! #glamourwoty

Even though Ashley’s Barbie is not for sale..Yet!! (fingers crossed), Mattel has a collection of plus size Barbies that you might want to check out. They are part of the Barbie Fashionista Collection  and you can shop for them at your local Toys R’ Us store and online at www.toysrus.com.

Hoping Mattel follows through with making these available. I am starting to collect plus sized dolls and I would love to add this one to my collection.

Yes, that would be great if they mass produce the Ashley Doll. I only have 1 of the plus size Barbies, but I’m looking forward to buying more. Thanks for stopping by!!
