Sports Illustrated Swimsuit at Miami Swim Week 2017
Hola Estrellitas! I am a little late on this post but I didn’t want to miss the opportunity to report on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Show because it was one of my favorites from Miami Swim Week this year. One of the reasons why I loved it so much it’s because of the models.
A few months back, I reported the news that Sports Illustrated was doing their first ever open casting call and looking for models of all sizes to be the next SI Swim Model and be featured on their magazine. I was excited to see that this year, 2 of the Top 15 finalists were plus size models Tabria Majors and Michelle Vidal and that they were both on the show in Miami, as well as the rest of the finalists.
Michelle is of Venezuelan and Cuban descent. She is curvy, has dark, long black hair and is very sexy. Tabria has curly hair, she is very athletic and sporty. Her Instagram account is filled with pictures of her modeling, her travelling adventures, doing Yoga, and rock climbing. She has modeled for Ashley Stewart, Fashion Nova, and Forever21, among others. Both of them came out to big cheers from the crowd that packed the W Hotel for the occasion.
Last year, Plus Size Model Ashley Graham broke barriers by making the cover of the magazine that for years had only featured size 2 models. This year’s finalists are very diverse when it comes to race, size, heights and body types. Big thanks to Ashley Graham for opening that door.
I wish both Michelle and Tabria the best of luck on the competition and check out a few more pictures from the show below.
