Miss Philippines Catriona Grey was crowned Miss Universe 2018 yesterday in Bangkok, Thailand where the pageant was held. Catriona, 24, who is Filipina-Australian, just became the fourth Filipina to win the Miss Universe title. She is also an accomplished television host, singer, model, and stage actress.

This year the pageant made history by having an all-female panel of judges including fashion designer Monique Lhuillier, architect-businesswoman Richelle Singson-Michael, Miss Universe 1992 Michelle McLean, Miss Universe 1988 Bui Simon, scientist and former beauty queen Iman Oubou, award-winning entrepreneur Lili Gil Valletta, and beauty queen-turned-activist Janaye Ingram.

The pageant also made history by allowing the first transgender contestant Miss Spain to participate, the first time that this ever happened in Miss Universe’s 66-year history.
