Plus size models Liris Crosse and Monique Robinson are two of the plus size models participating on Project Runway this season. If you are a fashion lover than Project Runway is one of those shows that you just have to watch. The show has been promoting more diversity in fashion in the past few seasons and it is all thanks to the designer’s mentor Tim Gunn.

Gunn, has been very vocal about designers not making clothes for plus size people. With the average American woman being a size 16/18 now and with over 60{f4f104417c9ad41c3090c48ffbf3737280584246b1c861fa3168a3f2cbe08147} of the people in the USA being plus size (Size 14 or higher), this surely is an untapped market for many designers. As part of the plus size community, I am happy to see representation on the show, my only gripe is that it took so long, 16 seasons to be exact for this to happen but hey, it’s here now and I am here for all of it.

Project Runway Season 16 is going to be the more diverse yet when it comes to models. The models will range from a size 0 to 22. I think that this should be a great challenge for the designers on the show and I look forward to seeing what they come up with.

I can’t wait to see Liris Crosse rocking the runway! The “Naomi Campbell of Plus” as she is known because of her amazing runway walk, she is having a great year, having just won “Model of the Year” at Full Figured Fashion Week 2017. Her model boot camps are a sellout wherever she goes and she recently wrote her first book.

Monique Robinson’s beauty and smile will surely light up the screen. This tall beauty has been the face of many fashion campaigns for retailers such as Ashley Stewart, Monif C., Macy’s, Torrid, and Target, just to name a few.
