Ralph Lauren RTW Fall 2017 (Photos)
Ralph Lauren’s RTW Fall 2017 Collection fashion show was held in his famous garage outside of New York where he keeps some of his most prized possessions: His Vintage Cars.
Second to fashion, you could say that cars are Lauren’s obsession. The models walked around his private collection of Ferraris, porsches, as well as the star of his car collection and one of the world’s most expensive cars, a 1938 Bugatti Type 57 SC Atlantic worth an estimated 40 million dollars. I would’ve love to be there just to see it.
But let’s talk fashion, shall we? The inspiration for the collection was menswear and timeless automotive design, very appropriate. To kick off the show, the male and female models wore houndstooth tailored suits, jackets and coats, then came the glamorous red carpet worthy dresses and racetrack inspired looks complete with the classic racing stripe, the black and white checkered pattern in contrast with a palette of primary colors (red, blue and yellow).
The men wore tuxedos with a colorful stripe on the side, bomber jackets and jumpers. What I love the most about the collection was the contrast of the leather pieces with the long tulle skirts.
