The 2017 Golden Globe Awards were held yesterday at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The show was hosted by actor, comedian and talk show host Jimmy Fallon and was televised live on NBC. One of the highlights of the show was seeing Meryl Streep received the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award. It was so well deserved since Meryl is the Queen of actresses and the epitome of excellence when it comes to acting. The award was presented to her by another great actress Viola Davis. Meryl received a standing ovation from the audience and she gave a very emotional speech.

The 74th Annual Golden Globe Awards honors the best in Television and Film and here at EFR, we are going to honor the best of the best of the red carpet. Check it out!!

1-Yellow was a big hit last night, everyone looked great in their lemonade color looks especially Viola Davis with her cocoa skin against that yellow, simply divine.

2-Metallics: There were a lot of metallic dresses last night on the red carpet. Some were big hits and others, well…not so much. Naomi Harris looked stunning and Emma Stone’s dress by Valentino was my personal favorite from the bunch because of the stars of course. You guys know that I’m obsessed with stars.

3-Ladies in Tuxedos: Evan Rachel Wood looked out of this world on her custom-made tuxedo by Altazurra. Octavia Spencer also looked great in her custom-made tux by Laura Basci. It is great to see something different on the red carpet and women making a statement, we don’t always have to wear a dress to go to a red carpet event.

4-Men in Tuxedos: Speaking of tuxedos, we can’t forget about the guys and how dapper they looked in their tuxedos. I love a classic tuxedo but “Atlanta” star Donald Glover stood out by wearing a velvet suit in chocolate brown. I like the suit but not the color. Ryan Gosling and Jeremy Renner went for the white tuxedo jacket while “This is Us” star Milo Ventimiglia, went for a navy blue tux by Ralph Lauren.

5-Pink dresses: Pink was a big color this year, I am not a big fan of pink but these ladies did the color justice. Lilly Collins dress was my favorite of the bunch and I also liked the sequin dress that Yvette Nicole Brown is wearing. Angela Basset looked amazing in Christian Siriano.

6-Black and White Looks: The black and white looks have been very popular on the red carpet in the last couple of years. Janelle Monae wore an Armani Prive gown that was magical and fun. Julia Louise Dreyfus looked very elegant in column dress, Supermodel Naomi Campbell was regal in her intricate gown and “Wonderwoman” star Gal Gadot was glowing with her pregnancy belly.
