The Dali & Schiaparelli Exhibit At The Dali Museum Brings Couture To The Tampa Bay Area
Hola Estrellitas! Today, I stopped by the Dali Museum in St. Petersburg, Florida for the second year in a row. I visited the museum last year to see the Frida Kahlo Exhibit and this time, I stopped by to see the Salvador Dali and Elsa Schiaparelli Exhibit.
I love museums and when you combine fashion and museums, I am in heaven. The exhibit was amazing! It featured haute couture gowns and accessories, jewelry, paintings, drawings, objects, and photos, as well as new designs by Bertrand Guyon for Maison Schiaparelli.
According to the museum’s website “this is the first exhibition dedicated to the creative relationship and works of Elsa Schiaparelli and Salvador Dali, who were friends and collaborators while they both lived in Paris and set the world ablaze with their groundbreaking visions”.
If you have never been to the Dali Museum, well this is a great time to go, especially if you are a fashion lover like me. Seeing those couture gowns up close and personal was fascinating. The details and the time that it takes to make a couture gown is astounding. You have to be creative and artistic to design them.
The exhibition is organized by The Dali Museum in collaboration with Schiaparelli Paris, with loans from the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Metropolitan Museum, and others. I am so happy to see exhibits like this one come to the Tampa Bay area, you normally have to go to New York or Paris to see them.
I took a ton of pictures and I am sharing some of them with you in this post as a teaser. The idea is to get you excited enough to make you want to go see it in person. If I show you everything then there is no point in you going, right?. Check out some pictures below.
