Torrid 2017 Model Search to Include Celebrity Judges Ashley Nell Tipton, Candice Huffine and Priscilla Ono
Attention all plus size models and aspiring models, plus size retailer Torrid is launching their 3rd Annual Model Search and it comes with a twist. This year, Torrid added a panel of celebrity judges who are going to pick the winner. The celebrity judges are: Project Runway Winner Ashley Nell Tipton, Plus Size Supermodel Candice Huffine and Celebrity Makeup Artist Priscilla Ono.
The online casting submissions kicked off officially in May on Torrid.com but they are going to be conducting live casting call events this Summer in four major U.S. markets, including: Los Angeles, Seattle, Houston, and Atlanta starting July 15th. And for the for the very first time, Torrid is also bringing their search to Canada with a live casting in Toronto, Ontario.
Kate Horton, Torrid SVP and General Merchandising Manager, said in a press release: “We’re so excited to be kicking off our third annual Torrid Model Search nationwide—and for the first time ever, we’re heading north to Canada! It’s so inspiring to see thousands of beautiful women show up in amazing clothes, walk down a runway, have their pictures taken and make their dreams come true”. She also added: “Like everything we do at Torrid, this event’s all about them. To be part of such a fun, empowering journey really is an honor.”
Hurry up ladies, you only have until August 13th to submit your applications online. We listed the casting call cities below for you guys to jot down and attend the closest one to you.
July 15th Los Angeles, CA– Del Amo Fashion Center, 10AM-5PM
July 22nd Seattle, WA– Alderwood Mall, 10AM-5PM
July 29th Toronto, ON– Oshawa Centre, 10AM–5PM
August 5th Houston, TX – Houston Galleria, 10AM–5PM
August 12th Atlanta, GA – North Point Mall, 10AM–5PM
But wait, We left out the best part. One lucky girl is going to be picked to be the winner and she will receive the title of the “Face of Torrid 2018”. She is also going to get a Torrid modeling contract and wardrobe. The winner is also going to be hosting Torrid store openings and events as a brand ambassador, star in seasonal fashion campaigns, and appear on the brand’s social media channels throughout the year. This is a great opportunity ladies.
