Hola Estrellitas!! I just got back from Puerto Rico, how exciting!!, this was my second trip out of the country this year and believe it or not, it was my first time in the beautiful island. Puerto Rico is so close to the USA and I have so many Puertorican friends, that I feel bad saying that I’ve never been there before.

Anyways guys, I had an amazing time. I was there for an event, the Su-style Expo but I also took some time out to enjoy my mini vacation. I was only there for 3 days and 2 nights and I love how similar Puerto Rico is to Dominican Republic where I am from. Now let’s start with the Hotel. I stayed at the Hyatt Place San Juan City. It is very centrally located, near everything. The airport is 10 minutes away and Old San Juan was about a 8-10 minute ride on Uber.Β I had the opportunity to walk the streets of Old San Juan, check out the sites, shop and of course my favorite thing to do: Eat , LOL don’t judge me!!.

I had lunch at “La Cueva Del Mar” Restaurant, very delicious food and also affordable. A person can eat there for about $20 to $30 dollars. I tried the Mogonfo con Camarones Criollos (Mofongo with Shrimp) and a passion fruit Mojito, so delicious!!.I think I found my signature drink, I love Mojitos.

Later, that day, I had dinner at “Raices” Restaurant and I loved the atmosphere. The presentation of the food is also great and they have the best PiΓ±a Colada I’ve tried so far. One of the cool things about this place is that servers are all dressed in white, with hair wraps in their heads. The decor of the place is also very colorful and of course the food is also great. You guys know how much I love Anthony Bourdain and when I heard that Bourdain had visited the restaurant, I had to go and see it for myself. I’m glad I did.

The next day, I went to The Mall of San Juan for Brunch with my friends. We had brunch at Starbene Caffe and it was fantastic. You can get a taste of the best Italian pastries, coffee and gelato at this place. You must try their French toast, it has cream cheese inside and it is delicious. You can also buy fresh coffee, they grind it for you on the spot. It cost about $10 dollar for a bag but it is worth it. It tastes and smells amazing.

EFR Travel Tip: The Mall of San Juan has an Information desk where they can hold your luggage while you shop and they have a shuttle to the airport from the Mall that costs .35 cents, yes! you read that right, .35 cents! The shuttle leaves every 30 minutes therefore, manage your time well because if you miss it, you then have to wait another 30 minutes for the next one to pick you up.

My time in San Juan was short but the food was delicious, the people were very gracious and the weather was perfect. I can’t wait to return! See you soon Puerto Rico!!.
