Chromat Ready-To-Wear Fall 2018 at NYFW (Photos)
The Chromat Ready-To-Wear Fall 2018 show was held yesterday during NYFW and it was colorful, playful and it featured models of all shapes and sizes. The rise of the plus size models continues and Chromat has been very instrumental in bringing diversity to fashion week. The Chromat show has become one of my favorite shows to watch during NYFW because of it. In addition to plus size models, she used a Muslim model wearing a hijab, a model with a prosthetic leg (Viktoria Modesta), and even a breast cancer survivor (Ericka Hart).
This season, Chromat creative director Becca McCharen-Tran, traded her signature zippers for bungee cords. The models looked radiant in the bright color palette that included orange, cobalt blue, black and yellow. They also had bags of Cheetos in their hands and some of them wore Bandelettes thigh bands, designed to help prevent thigh chafing for women of all shapes and sizes.
Chromat is demonstrating that diversity in fashion is possible and they are leading by example. Designers, you should take notes!
