Grassroots Movement ‘Women’s March’ Gets Huge Crowd Support in the U.S and Around The World

A day after President Donald Trump’s inauguration, women are taking to streets and marching around the world in protest and solidarity with other women and against the new President policies and what he said he would do during the campaign.
A sea of Pink Hats could be seen at the Women’s March on Washington, courtesy of The PussyHat Project that started as a grassroots movement just like the march, and they both quickly became a powerful force. Hundreds of thousands of women marched in cities throughout the U.S today and around the world in countries like: London, Paris, Australia, South Africa and more, to let the new President know that they are going to fight against his proposed policies that affect women’s reproductive rights, LGBT rights, the environment, equal pay and many other issues.
Many celebrities also attended the Women’s March including: Actress and activist America Ferrera, Scarlet Johansson, Singer Alicia Keys, Ashley Judd, Senator Elizabeth Warren, Madonna, Feminist Icon Gloria Steinem and many more.

I don’t considered myself a feminist but as a woman, I am in solidarity with them and understand why they are marching and are concerned about the future of this country. I hope that this movement doesn’t die and that it can achieve something. Marching is great but getting people to the voting booths and to actually care, it’s another story. Especially our younger generation who don’t believe in the power of the vote and take our democracy for granted.
As a fashion blogger, sometimes people want to silent you or bully you into silence and think that you should stick to what you know or what they think you know. They don’t think that you care about world issues and what is going on in the world. Maybe they think that it doesn’t affect me, somehow, I am immune to these types of issues and situations. It is laughable. I am an immigrant, Latina, plus size woman. Do I need to say more?
