Louis Vuitton collaborates with Pop Artist Jeff Koons on Handbag Collection
Luxury retailer Louis Vuitton collaborated with Pop Artist Jeff Koons on a handbag collection inspired by some of the most famous Artist of all time, the Old Masters: Van Gogh, Rubens, Fragonard, Titian and Da Vinci.
The luxurious Louis Vuitton bags served as canvas for reproductions of the old masters most famous paintings including: Titian “Mars, Venus and Cupid from 1546”, Rubens “The Tiger Hunt 1615-1616”, Fragonard “Girl with the Dog 1770”, Van Gogh “A Wheatfield with Cypresses 1889” and Dan Vinci “Mona Lisa 1503-1506”.
The collection is nice, I wish that they would have more of Koon’s artistry in them instead of the Masters paintings, I was expecting to see Koon’s work not the Masters and that’s probably what threw me off when I first saw them. The bags look like something that you could buy at a Museum Gift Shop except that instead of paying $100 dollars for them, these cost about 3k dollars each .
They are very different for sure, when I see them I don’t think Louis Vuitton per se, but maybe that is what they were going for, something different. What do you guys think? Do you like these bags Yey or Nay? Let me know in the comments section down below and let’s chat.
Shop for these bags at your local Louis Vuitton store and online at www.louisvuitton.com.
