Hola Estrellitas! You guys know how much I love fashion, prints and museums, right? Well, there is a new exhibit in Dallas from designer Mary Katrantzou that is right up my alley and I wish to share all the details with you. Unfortunately, I will not be able to travel to Dallas to see it, but I hope that some of you guys can make it.

The “Mary, Queen of Prints” exhibit by designer Mary Katrantzou at the Dallas Contemporary Art Museum, is her first solo exhibit and it celebrates the anniversary of her 10 years in fashion. More than 180 pieces from her achieve are on display, curated by color and it is the only place where you can see them up close and personal.

According to the museum’s website, the exhibit was curated by Museum Director Peter Doroshenko and Director of Exhibitions Justine Ludwig and it was “grouped according to color instead of chronology, the exhibition aims to highlight Katrantzou’s skill as a colorist and her use of the full spectrum of the rainbow, which has been central to her aesthetic since the brand’s conception”.

For those who don’t know, Mary was born in Athens, Greece and she studied Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design and graduated with a BA in Textile Design and an MA in Fashion from Central Saint Martins. She is known for her colorful prints, pattern mixing and textiles.
