Lebanese couturier Elie Saab never disappoints. The Elie Saab Fall 2017 Couture Collection show in Paris today was all about “Warrior Queens” and “A Tale of Fallen Kings”.
According to the designer’s Instagram account, the Haute Couture collection was inspired by “The opulance and wild beauty of Medieval times and translates it into fiercely elegant feminine silhouettes”.Β Paying homage to the era, Saab used intricate embroidery, velvet, tulle in jewel tones, to create stunning floor-sweeping gowns paired with capes and embellished coats.
Queens never go anywhere without their crowns and the models wore crown headbands in their flowey long hair.
The last look, was a regal wedding gown adorned with gold threads and a long train that the model wearing it needed 2 helpers to carry it.
You can’t help but think “Game of Thrones” when you see this collection. Sansa Stark and Daenerys Targaryen would look amazing in those dresses. Was Saab inspired by the show? We don’t really know but one thing is for sure, this has made us more excited for the new season of GOT premiering in a few weeks.
